About Guusje Bertholet
When Guusje Bertholet (1959) was barely old enough to see over the table, she discovered that her father spent all his free time drawing and painting watercolours. Her first thought was that she wanted to do that too. Her father began teaching her, and so her passion for drawing and painting was born.
Unfortunately her busy working life left her little time for painting. Years after she founded her company Bertholet Illustrations – specialized in making medical and scientific drawings – she could no longer ignore the feeling that she had to start painting again.
The distinctive artwork of Guusje Bertholet is characterized by impressive, large scaled portrait paintings.
